Spreading Joy & Kindness in Regan Shetsky’s name
Regan Elizabeth Shetsky was taken from her family on January 4, 2017 when she was hit by a car in her nursery school parking lot. Regan was 3 years old, about to turn 4. This spunky, bubbly, and funny girl was loved by all who met her.

Mark, Kelly, Gavin & Grayson
Mark and Kelly Shetsky moved to Syracuse in 2007 for Kelly’s job as a news reporter and anchor at WSYR-TV, NewsChannel 9. Although they thought they would only be here for a few years…that’s what life is like as a broadcast journalist…Mark became a Syracuse City Firefighter in 2011, a job he loves and one that will keep the family here long term. Kelly made the transition from news to public relations in 2011, and enjoys the balance of work and family life.
Mark and Kelly were thrilled when Gavin and Regan were born, in 2010 and 2013, respectively. Gavin and Regan were truly best friends and did everything together. Always on the go, the family traveled the entire east coast, introducing Gavin and Regan to countless special memories.
The Shetskys are humbled by the outpouring of support, love and prayers since Regan’s death. They were blessed to add to their family with the birth of Grayson in 2019. He has a big sister watching over him and talks to her, and about her, all the time.

Regan’s Acts of Kindness Movement
A Regan’s Act of Kindness is any selfless act that makes someone happier. The only limit is your imagination! Some people pay for the order of the person behind them at a drive thru; others leave gift cards in shopping carts. Children have handed out bubbles at playgrounds, surprised their teachers and bus drivers with little thank you gifts, and given other children small stuffed animals. Some older women knit baby blankets and hats for local hospitals in Regan’s name and others deliver flowers to strangers with Regan’s Kindness Cards attached. We would love to see your Regan’s Acts of Kindness. Please post photos on our Facebook page – www.facebook.com/regansactsofkindness
Our Book Drive collection just ended. The influx of donations was simply incredible. We’re still counting and sorting but check back for the final tally!
